So my eye has been bleeding again. It seems to bleed at night when I’m sitting down doing nothing and not exerting myself, sneezing or being stressed - unless of course it’s just a delayed reaction to what I’ve been doing during the day! I took more photos of it this morning, it’s looking more vampiric by the day and the good news is I will probably still have it at Christmas and I will be able to scare small children and repulse people while they’re eating their Christmas dinner - see everything has an upside! I made another batch of Tablet last night but I’m not eating it, nuh huh. I will have to hide it from my sister though lol
When I stocked up my Zazzle shop a few weeks ago (3 almost) I set myself a little test target just to see if anyone would want to buy anything that I created, and also because statistically less people know about Zazzle than Cafepress. Well I exceeded the target I set for the month in just under three weeks, so thank you everyone who bought anything from the shop and especially to all the crazy Twilight obsessed fans who are just buying everything I have. Thank you all! I’m really surprised at the popularity of keychains btw, I guess they make good stocking fillers.
It might be a bit of procrastination on my part but I am still trying to reorganise my sewing/craft room workspace instead of doing any actual sewing. I’m taking a break for lunch (even though it’s 3pm) as I just managed to dig my way out of mountains of fabric. Remind me why I think I need more fabric? Speaking of more fabric I am fretting quite a bit that some things I ordered at least 2-3 weeks ago have still not arrived from the US, whereas a beautiful bracelet (a present and unfortunately not for me) I ordered via Etsy arrived today, also from the US. I just hope they aren’t holding my fabric up in customs as I REALLY NEED IT and it’s very sexy.
Still also waiting for my recent ebay purchases but since some of them are from Saturday I know I’m being unreasonable. I just want them now. (like I don’t have enough fabric lol)
Photos of the new and improved sewing room will be posted - maybe a before, during and after makeover lol. I found stuff up there buried deep within the depths of the spare room that I forgot I even had, but also I found fabric that I bought in Glasgow last Christmas and that reminded me that the shop (Mandors) will be having another sale this Christmas so I definitely need to put that on my to-do list. I seem to remember last year having to enlist the help of a couple of family members to carry everything I bought. Fabric is heavy you know.
Book Group
Just a quick mention about the book group since this isn’t the book group blog! 1984 - George Orwell and Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer are the books for this month, and in the Paranormal Social Club we are reading Pleasure Unbound - Larrissa Ione. And of course you can read whatever you want and come talk about it with us. Virgin Suicides and Time Traveler’s Wife discussions are still going if anyone wants to jump in. Plus also we have very sexy Rules of Book Club designs on a bunch of items on both Cafepress and Zazzle.

Got an email tonight from the lovely Zazzle people announcing that they will be having a Black Friday sale this Friday, some product lines will be 20-50% off, plus some free shipping options and a bunch of other stuff. I’m going to bed so I can’t do much about it now, but I guess I should aim to get as much product in the shop tomorrow in preparation for the sale. At least that way there will be something there should anyone decide to buy something.
Bought more craft supplies today. I can’t really say I needed most of it but I like to be prepared and have things just in case I might need them. I guess I missed my calling as a boy scout. Spoke to the girl in the craft shop and she was saying the same thing. She likes to have something just in case. Maybe there’s a lot of that going around, what do you think? I also told her about Etsy and she wrote down the URL and might be checking it out. She makes jewellry too!
At the moment I reckon I could open my own craft supplies shop as I have a fair amount of stock just sitting around waiting/begging/pleading to be made into something, and um well not a lot of free time to sit down and do it. Plus I keep going off on tangents. Today I saw things in the shops, got inspired and bought raw materials to try and make my own. Not what I went out to get. Also ordered some rather nice fabric last night from the US, stuff I can’t get here, and then tonight ordered some more fabric via ebay, for the same reason - can’t get it locally. See I just went off on another one, what I was going to say is that I’m very good at the organising/getting the supplies in side of things but I fall down when it comes to the actual doing part of it. I’m ready and have just about everything you can think of that I might need to make just about everything… or open a craft shop!
All the pretty bags arrived today for Tablet packaging but unfortunately me and my BIL/sister seem to have eaten it all so I will have to start again tomorrow *whistles*
Oh and I nearly forgot, Cafepress have added five new products to their list, all hoodies, zip up hoodies, black hoodies etc. And last night Zazzle made it easier for shopkeepers to add designs to multiple products. It’s all happening!

Yes I know the name is intriging to anyone outside of Scotland. You are probably wondering what the hell is “tablet” whereas Scottish people the world over will be drooling by now and whispering “mmmmm tablet”. Here are some photos of this wonderful traditional Scottish confectionery.
I say that is is fudge-like because that’s really the closest thing I can think of but I really don’t consider them to be similar. Some fudges, especially those commercial ones that you see sold in brick size portions in shopping malls, can be quite chewy, whereas Tablet is more melt in your mouth, sugary/grainy confection.
This is a traditional sweet to make in Scotland, and especially in my family. I grew up eating this and I still have all my own teeth and I’m not thirty stone, so it can’t be that bad (so long as you brush your teeth regularly lol). My sister loves it but can’t make it, so I usually make it for her around Halloween (also Treacle Toffee!) and Christmas, and she hides it away in a secret cupboard so no one else gets any.

You are Milk Chocolate
|

A total dreamer, you spend most of your time with your head in the clouds.
You often think of the future, and you are always working toward your ideal life.
Also nostalgic, you rarely forget a meaningful moment… even those from long ago.

What Kind of Chocolate Are You?
Yeah I guess that could be true.

I found this site all about Tequila. I am partial to a good margarita but haven’t had any of the stuff for some time now.
My main problem with tequila is that I get a headache while I’m still drinking it which is a little like a premature hangover and one of the main reasons why I avoid the stuff. That and the fact that I have given up alcohol along with many other things.
Anyway, did you know there are over 700 different tequilas? I didn’t, and that is pretty impressive. This site will give you all you ever need to know about tequila. There are also many recipes for tequila and a listing of some restaurants that specialise in offering good quality tequila.
Have fun!

I had a day in the park today. A family picnic. The weather was unusually warm for this place and it was actually pleasant. There was even grass sitting and running around. People were not wearing several layers of clothes for a change. Of course being Glasgow, there were many Glasgow suntans, ie people so white they were almost blue, and then the ones that have had sun exposure, who are now lobster-esque. My mother kept her tights on though. It would need to be 50 Celsius or more before she went tight-less. I’m not too sure I’ve ever seen it myself and for many years actually thought her legs were ‘mocha’ in colour!
Anyway back to the park…
It was nice, I took photos. Something weird happened to my camera and they are all overexposed :( Perhaps because the camera has also never seen the sun before and doesn’t know what to do, or perhaps because I am a moron and can’t work it properly.
It was a nice way to spend the day. We went for a walk up Great Western Road and Byres road and went to my favourite shop - Heart Buchanan. It’s a deli but is a GREAT deli. They also make the best coffee in Glasgow. If you want more details I have devoted a whole page to them in my website. Just go to the food page and you will see a link to them.
There were two things that occurred to me today. One was that there was an art display there today, £15 for a space to display your wares. And I thought, why didnt I do this. Way to earn some extra money right. I can do similar stuff to what was on display. Of course now that I’m car-less, I would have to lug everything on a bus and train and subway to get there. That makes it less attractive.
The second thing that occurred to me was that I really really wished I had someone to hold hands with and walk through the park. I looked around at all the happy normal couples and thought ‘why don’t I have someone to share this stuff with?’ The answer is ‘ I don’t know’.

This morning I got up and pottered around like you do on a Sunday. Of course it was slightly earier than I had hoped to be getting up due to my BIL ringing me to ask why I was still in bed when everyone else was up? Being half asleep, I was a bit confused by this, wondering if I was supposed to be somewhere else. Then it turned out he had pressed the wrong number on speed dial and it wasnt me at all that should be up LOL
So anyway after that, I got to pottering about, playing with the computer, tweaking things etc and drinking decaf. Then out of the blue the power cut out with no warning whatsoever. Now last Saturday it was out for 8 hours but at least they gave me advance warning. Today nothing and I hadnt even had my breakfast. Now I couldn’t boil a kettle, make toast, heat up anything, watch tv, dvd, listen to music, vacuum (and I so wanted to) because the whole stupid house is electric. So after my computer battery died I went for a wander out in the garden as the sun was shining and it wasnt too cold.
I have strawberries in my garden. It’s a hardy plant the strawberry plant, that’s all I can say. I planted them about 3 years ago and they have had no care and attention ever since. They survive through all weather, snow, frost, rain, wind and every year there are more and more of them. Now these strawberries are not those very pretty, large one you see in the supermarket. These strawberries are a bit rough round the edges but OMG they are the sweetest strawberries I have ever tasted!!! So there I was wandering up the path, fighting past the nettles to pick the strawberries, and just eating them straight off the plant. Ah bliss. Well bliss until I pulled the stalk off one of them and was just about to pop it in my mouth, when this little grub/wormy looking thing reared its little black head (where’s the shocked smiley when you need one?) So anyway ‘what did you do?’ you’re asking, well I lifted it out and set it down on a nice flower and I ate the strawberry :) Let’s face it I had probably already eaten a couple of the little creatures already (I hope not since I don’t eat meat but it was accidental).
