A Day in the Park

I had a day in the park today.  A family picnic.  The weather was unusually warm for this place and it was actually pleasant.  There was even grass sitting and running around.  People were not wearing several layers of clothes for a change.  Of course being Glasgow, there were many Glasgow suntans, ie people so white they were almost blue, and then the ones that have had sun exposure, who are now lobster-esque.  My mother kept her tights on though.  It would need to be 50 Celsius or more before she went tight-less.  I’m not too sure I’ve ever seen it myself and for many years actually thought her legs were ‘mocha’ in colour!

Anyway back to the park…

It was nice, I took photos.  Something weird happened to my camera and they are all overexposed :(   Perhaps because the camera has also never seen the sun before and doesn’t know what to do, or perhaps because I am a moron and can’t work it properly.

It was a nice way to spend the day.  We went for a walk up Great Western Road and Byres road and went to my favourite shop – Heart Buchanan.  It’s a deli but is a GREAT deli.  They also make the best coffee in Glasgow.  If you want more details I have devoted a whole page to them in my website.  Just go to the food page and you will see a link to them.

There were two things that occurred to me today.  One was that there was an art display there today, £15 for a space to display your wares.  And I thought, why didnt I do this. Way to earn some extra money right.  I can do similar stuff to what was on display.  Of course now that I’m car-less, I would have to lug everything on a bus and train and subway to get there.  That makes it less attractive.

The second thing that occurred to me was that I really really wished I had someone to hold hands with and walk through the park.  I looked around at all the happy normal couples and thought  ‘why don’t I have someone to share this stuff with?’  The answer is ‘ I don’t know’.
