As per this post I am having a crafty long weekend.

Here’s what I’ve been up to today:

I just got this stencil set a few days ago.  The stencils are Layered Dahlia A and Layered Dahlia B from Altenew.   They are sold separately so you can purchase either stencil or purchase both, and use them to layer on top of each other.

I did the first experiment in Pink Diamond ink from Altenew using this brush.  BTW this is not a life changing brush, this is a cheap makeup brush I bought at Christmas and it works really well for ink blending.

Here’s how it looks after I have inked up Stencil A.

Then I lined up Stencil B using the white uninked areas left by the first stencil, and used a darker pink ink on it.

And this is how it looks after using both stencils – doesn’t it look great!

Since I had inked up two in the original light pink, I used the second one to ink up this darker pink on top.

I think this one looks amazing!

Then for something different, I did another one using yellow.

Then I layered green ink over the top out of curiosity to see how it would look – I actually was a bit worried about this one as the green looked really dark while I was doing it and I thought I’d really messed up and it would be too dark but look…

I really love this one too!

And here are the three finished backgrounds.  The stencils are 6 x 6 inches so they are perfect for cards and backgrounds.  I haven’t decided what to do with them yet but I like having some options for forthcoming birthdays.
