OM OM OM Happy World Meditation Day! I sat on a beach this morning, cleared my mind and just enjoyed the moment with sand in my toes.
So this card is my dedication to today. Galaxy background and what I used to call inlaid diecutting but is now apparently called “eclipse”. This is one of the galaxy backgrounds I created with my Gansai Tambi watercolours the other day and btw, when I created them, I had no plans for them whatsoever and this card idea wasn’t even a twinkle in my eye lol.
This is the background I decided to use. It wasn’t my favourite one from that set, as I didn’t want to cut that one up, so I chose this one from the middle.
I used the Altenew Bold Alphabet die set to cut out the OM letters three times – btw I really like how this background looks on the diecut letters. I was really tempted to use them on their own in a different card!
But I decided to keep going with my original idea and so I cut out more OMs in white card and stacked and glued them so I had four layers of white card. I also went through my cardstock to choose a colour to go with the galaxy colours. This one from Gina K was quite a good match to the teal paint colour.
Here it is with the white diecuts in place – I also like it with just the white against the background lol.
I glued the watercoloured diecuts on top of the white stack and popped the little middles of the Os back in place.
And here’s the “eclipse” look in action. I think the diecutting and eclipse actually makes this galaxy look better lol.
And that’s the finished card. That was so much fun!
