If you like everything to be co-ordinated and you like to make it all yourself, then of course you are going to want to make your own envelope to go with your card (you probably do this already, right?) and it’s a piece of cake to make your own matching gift wrap, so why not?
The Envelope for this Card
Use your envelope punch board or similar to create a matching envelope for your card. I used some lavender paper to make an envelope for a six inch square cardUse your favourite inks and stamps to cover the whole paper – before it is folded and made into an envelope! I used Archival ink and Finnabair stamps since they were going to match the card and gift
Use the creases made by the envelope punch board to fold up your envelope and glue it together – see how cute it is? Note: I am not posting this card, but if I was, I would need to either leave a blank space for the address or use a label. After the card was folded up, I did a little stamping on the inside just where it would be seen when opened
And that’s the envelope done. Little finishing touches can really make a difference.
The Gift Wrap for this Notebook
The notebook I altered is a standard A5 size so using a piece of paper that is A3 size (4x A5) is the perfect size.
Place your paper on a flat surface and get stamping! Cover the entire paper with stamps. I used various sizes of butterfly stamp, and first, second, third generation stamping, to overlap the butterflies and fill the page. I also used some small sentiments to match the card and notebook. Now I was just going to leave it as it was, with just the stamped images, but I couldn’t resist adding some colour to those little butterflies! As you can see, it really makes a difference!I stuck to pinks and purples to stay within my colour palette, and spent an enjoyable 30 mins or so colouring them in with my polychromosMatchy Matchy! Co-ordination is the name of the game! Here is what all four items look like together before I wrapped them up.
And that’s a wrap! I used this purple ribbon from my stash that was just the colour I needed for this project.
