Hi Friends!

Today I have a steampunk coffee inspired card for you which I am calling The Steampunk Coffee Machine!

The inspiration for this card came from looking through my stash at all the bits and bobs and wondering what on earth I could do with them all.  As it turns out – quite a lot – as I made two cards!  This is the first, and all the little gears and pipes and cogs are all cut from cardboard packaging – specifically Felix cat food boxes lol.  I also saved some of the packets that the coffee beans came in for just such an occasion, so I used the strength indicators for my coffee on tap.  Above the taps, in the middle, there is also the little aroma thingy from the coffee packet – you know the thing you can squeeze to get the aroma from the coffee inside?  That thing, whatever that is called. So I laid everything out to see how it might fit together and then went off to work on a background idea.

The finished card below has a coffee stained watercolour paper background.  I had made some coffee this morning – not in a steampunk coffee machine sadly, just a regular peculator) so I put some in a spray bottle and sprayed it all over the watercolour paper. I also had another spray with (old) black tea so I gave it some of that as well!   I used brads to fix all my wheels together, the ones that operate the machine 🙂 so they do actually rotate!  The clock hands on the bottom of the machine swing from No. 3 strength to No. 4 strength to indicate which tap to choose.  I wish I had one of these for real! It would be so much more interesting sitting in my kitchen lol.

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think of the Steampunk Coffee Machine!
