Hello again, here we are again at the start of another week. I hope your Monday is going well for you. Today I am sharing some photos from one of the Life Book 2021 lessons, this time it’is these lovely “Art Flow” cards from last week’s lesson from Laly Mille. I do a lot of watercolour anyway and seem to be making a lot of card decks lately so her lesson combining both these things was right up my street! I feel like I’m in a bit of a slump and I am super tired due to some person health problems and some kitty health problems and I just feel exhausted. So I thought I would shut myself away in my studio {happy place} and make these cards. It was just what I needed!
As this is a class lesson, there is no tutorial, just a couple of starting out photos and a lot of ending up photos. I decided early on that this card set would make a great gift for one of my friends, so I ended up making enough for two sets of cards, one for her and one for me. [icon name=”smile-beam” style=”regular” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]. I made a bunch of backgrounds on A3 sized 300gsm watercolour paper, here are a few of my favourites…

The colours in this one I LOVE [icon name=”heart” style=”solid” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] [icon name=”heart” style=”solid” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] [icon name=”heart” style=”solid” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] I really wish I’d taken time to stop and scan it but I didn’t so too bad. I might try and recreate it later and scan that, if I ever get the time.

I also photographed some close ups of some of my favourite bits from all the backgrounds.
And of course this one that I love. I am actually thinking I might use it as a background element on the site…
On the way to making these into cards, I cut them up and thought they would make nice bookmarks, hmmmmm more gift ideas are happening…
So here are my cards ready for decorating…
with the labels that were included as part of the class…
which colour set do you like best?
It also occurred to me that they could also work as a jigsaw puzzle…
I could tell my friend that they can all be combined to make one large picture but then she has to work out how they go together, or I could be kind and include a photo of the complete background like this photo to give her a fighting chance lol.
Here are more finished cards…
I like my corners rounded and my backs decorated…
I drew little eyes on this one… I wonder if she will notice them lol
Unfortunately one of the prompts had a typo which I didn’t notice till I had stuck it on my card…
Can’t gift that one imperfect or not!
So here are my two finished decks, one for me to play with and one to save for a friend’s birthday. I have some ideas of things I want to make and box up together, so I am just getting a head start with these cards.
Hope you like them! Let me know what you think in the comments and as always, thanks for reading!
