Hello friends and welcome to another April project!  So today marks the start of the April Mini Challenge over on More Than Words Challenge Blog and this is my DT inspiration for this month.  The challenge word is IDEAL and this word must appear on the actual project.  For my project I created an ATC and as I was mulling over the word IDEAL, I started thinking about my ideal day and what that might look like and so I came up with the sentiment below, which is completely accurate lol.

Very unusually for me, I have been trying to work ahead, and like my next few Main Challenge projects, I also worked on the next few Mini projects at the same time. This is because I have a lot going on this year and I want to make it easier on myself (four year-long courses hello!)  I sat down and sketched out some ideas…

… before starting to sketch my chosen idea on to some watercolour paper cut to ATC size.

Doesn’t this look so real?  When I was thinking about books, and cats and tea, I spotted my Xmas present calendar (someone knows me so well!) hanging up on the wall and thought it would make a great background for my ATC,but I didn’t realise until I started taking the photos that it actually looked like it could be real lol.

I took a few more photos where you can see it really is a calendar.

The background is watercolour, the cat is done with Pitt pens and paint pens, and the steam coming off the tea is done in white pencil.  I then typed up and printed the quotes on to white paper and then backed them on some scraps of watercolour paper previously painted with metallic acrylic.

Hope you like it, and let me know what you think in the comments.  As always, thanks for reading!

More Than Words Mini Challenge – This challenge requires you to use a specific word on your project so the word SEIZE has to appear on the card.  Entry for the Mini Challenge is now also held on the blog under the relevant post. Visit the MTW blog for more details of prizes and sponsors and some amazing inspiration from the Design Team.  I’d love to see what you make!

I’ll do my best to keep up.  The idea is to blog every day but also to comment on other people’s blogs to keep the conversation going.  There is a facebook group where you can link your posts and find other people’s to go visit and comment. During April you can find all the Blog Along posts linked on my home page for convenience. If you leave a comment, I’ll be sure to return the favour!

I LOVE your pictures!! I was mesmerized as soon as I saw the books, typewriter and cat and I stared and sighed before I even read your words. Yes I’d love to pet cats and read too. What fun!
