Hello Friends! Another month has gone flying past and now we are in June! As it is the first of the month, I have this art journal page to share with you which is my DT project for the MTW June Main Challenge. The challenge this month is for the word inspiration HERO and the creative challenge to use PAINT. I am using my same handmade journal, as I still have some pages to fill before it is complete. This one already has some pink paint on it so I decided to go with it and use this page. I found a great quote which inspired the whole page and started off with my focal point of this woman looking across the page to where the quote will eventually be.
This is an easy way to get a face on a page making everything black, like a silhouette, and leaving the white parts to fill in the details.
I used cobalt violet watercolour paint to fill in the background of my page – I love this colour!
As it is watercolour and not acrylic, it was harder to hide the masking tape in the middle but it’s OK and I don’t mind it showing as vaguely pink.
Then I very carefully sketched out my quote lightly with a pencil before going over it with a waterproof black pen.
I added some paint splatters with gold and white paint and some white highlights in her hair with a paint pen.
And my page was complete!
Here’s my DT inspiration photo which you can find on the challenge announcement post today.
