Hello everyone, hope you are having a great weekend! We have been so lucky with the weather that I am trying to get as much done as possible in the garden before it changes. If I say that I had a day in the garden it does make it sound quite jolly doesn’t it, but when I tell you what I did in those six hours you will soon see that it was less jolly and more hard slog lol.
First of all, I replaced the roof on the shed as it had been damaged over the winter and water had got in in several places, so there was also a lot to throw out inside the shed after I finished the roof. I bought the roofing felt yesterday and when I asked the guy at the door where I could find it, he told me I should also take a big trolley as it was really heavy. He was right, it weighed 18kg, OK for short distances but I would not have made it back to the car without a trolley!
After the shed was re-roofed and water-tight (fingers crossed) I spent the rest of the time replacing some rotten wood on an outside door – what fun I had today haha! The cat watched me sceptically from the long grass, the look on her face spoke volumes (what is my silly human doing now).
The downside of all this activity is that now my hand and arm are like jelly (all that hammering of nails into the roof) and so I am out of action for the rest of today as I can’t grip anything without dropping it, and that includes pens, paintbrushes and of course tiny things like needles, so I can’t even get on with my stitching! I can’t do any stitching but at least I can show you where I’m at!
It really wasn’t meant to be this big, and so I could have finished it already but I wasn’t happy with the portrait shape of it (it’s supposed to be a cushion) so I wanted to extent it and make it more square, so I am in the process of adding more rows of black diamonds to the sides.
That’s all for today, it’s time for a hot bath and some dinner. Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

This month I decided to join in with Effy Wild’s blog-along – 30 posts in 30 days same as we did in April this year. The idea is to blog every day if you can, but also to comment on other people’s blogs to keep the conversation going. There is a facebook group where you can link your posts and find other people’s to go visit and comment.

Love your tapestry!
I spent our cold wet day today resting in front of the fire, after four fine days spent in the garden, so understand how your arms feels!
My that was a busy day! Sorry that your arm turned to jelly.
That is not a fun feeling to have.
I love the cross stitch.
Love your cross stitch! Wow! Lot of hard work in your garden but I’m impressed you got so much done. Well-cared for and loved kitties have no idea how good they have it, do they? Lol.
Found you through effys blog along! Hello there. Jelly arm from hammering sucks.
love your needlework! those manual labor days are exhausting, but so worth the effort, in the end. feel proud of how hard you worked!
What a busy day! And don’t you hate it when your arms (or legs) go to jelly because you’ve used them in ways you are not used to. I did that last week with my garden so yup I know! Well done on the repairs though that sounds amazing.
