Hello friends, and Happy October!

Wow I can’t believe it’s October already, but the weather is definitely reminding me that it is!  Here’s to a creative month ahead! There are a few challenges I am hoping to participate in this month that are specific to October or Halloween, so I can’t wait for those to get started, and get my spook on.  Meanwhile, since it is the 1st of the month, I have my DT inspiration project for the October Main challenge at More Than Words.  The challenge this month is as follows:

I started off by flicking through some old magazines for some images to use on my page, and ended up with these two choices, the woman and the text from two different magazines.

My plan was to paint the background for the woman to sit on, so I used some acrylic inks and ended up with this background leaving a bit on the left where my image would go.

However, I really liked the paper towel that I was using to mop up the excess ink, so I decided to use that instead LOL

Here’s my paper towel background stuck down on a different page…

After I dried the background, I added the image of the woman to the left side of the page using gel medium.

For the inspiration word WRITE, I used a handwritten quote around the two words from the magazine…

I added some black and gold splatters to the page and some outlining to the woman and some gold edging to the page and that was it finished.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

I absolutely love what you have done here, Elle. I use magazine images a LOT, so was very impressed with both choices. Great sentiment, too. Nice that you chose the paper towels over the painted page. They gave more texture.
