Hello friends,
Happy Friday! I have my second Poe page to share today. After the first Poe, I mentioned there was another one coming up later this week, and this is it. I have been working on a few more pages, I’ve actually lost count on how many are still to be finished before the end of October, but I think it will work out OK. I’m sharing this page with AJJ of course, and the 31 Days of Halloween blog hop and since it’s Friday, and I’ve been painting, also with Paint Party Friday.

Today’s spread is inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and this internet meme that made me laugh so I thought I would incorporate it in my page. Think Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen…
I had started out by painting a few blank pages in my journal with different colours just to make a start on them and hoping the colour would give me some inspiration. This one was painted with this gold acrylic paint from Pebeo. At the time I painted it, I had no idea what it was going to become, and I had no plans to draw on it at all.
After doing my other Poe page, I thought I would try another one, this time with paint, so this lighter coloured background was the best option I had in my journal. I used a combination of Neocolour IIs, heavy body acrylic, paint pens, Pitt artist pens, and pencil for the colouring. He’s a little wonky but there’s no going back so it is what it is, the only way to fix him up is to paint over him and start again, but I kinda like his wonkiness especially in light of the words lol.
So at this point I had a big wonky Poe on one side and nothing on the other. That’s when I started thinking about the internet meme I had seen, and thought I would make it a funny page by using the meme with speech bubbles so that Poe would be saying one line and the Raven would be saying the other. First I pencilled in how much space I would need for the words, then drew the Raven. Then wrote out the words in black pen and drew the speech bubbles around them and that was another page complete.

Is this not the best Poe pun ever?? I can’t even sing the original song anymore without using this! Another smile maker! And it is always a pleasure seeing Mr. Poe and even more so when his raven is singing along!
