Hello friends, and Happy Sunday!
The weather is changeable, but is definitely colder, and the cats are hibernating. Amazon couriers have taken to just leaving packages on the pavement in the vicinity of the house, I guess they are too busy now to wait to see if anyone is home. It really puts me off ordering anything else from them if they are not going to deliver orders securely. Something ordered for a Christmas present was delivered in a brown paper bag – not even a box – and consequently the item’s own box is crushed and looks like someone jumped up and down on it, so that can’t be given as a gift and will have to be returned, which causes more work for everyone. But anyway enough about amazon, let’s look at today’s art offering…
today’s art . . .
Today I am sharing the cards I mentioned I was working on yesterday. This is my Day 21 offering for Art Every Day Month and I’ve been enjoying creating something every day, wasn’t sure I was going to manage that, but if I do (the month is not over yet) then that will be three months in a row where I have posted every day, and two months in a row where I have created something every day. I am surprising myself, believe me!
Here are my cards. I really liked the backgrounds and trees I created for the other gel printed cards, so I thought I would make more cards with those backgrounds before I put away my gel plate. You might recognise these cats from one of my Halloween journal pages – They come to gaze at the moon…
I really liked them looking up at that big moon so I thought I would draw them again, this time looking up at a big Christmas tree. This time I did two sizes of kitties, perhaps it’s mama kitty and her two kittens looking up at the tree. They have come outside at night in their Christmas PJs to look at the Christmas tree all lit up and sparkling in the dark night.
These are multi-step cards because of all the gel printing, then adding the trees, then adding the gold baubles to the trees, then adding the stars, then adding the cats, then adding the falling snow, and of course giving the cats their Christmas jammies to wear! Don’t they look festive?
I only made nine of them since it was quite a long process, especially drawing all those cats and waiting for all the different elements to dry before adding the next. I liked them so much that I have scanned them and I will try printing some if my temperamental printer will co-operate with me. I did that last year with some artwork that I turned into Winter Fairy cards, and it worked really well printing on watercolour paper and adding details afterwards, so I might try that with this design too.

So creative Elle, love those kitties in their PJ’s x
I love your cat Christmas cards Elle, they’re gorgeous! The pyjamas are really cute and Christmassy 🙂
Hugs,

That was great how instead of gazing at the moon those kitties are gazing at the tree. Great idea Elle. And very festive for Christmas too. I need to start making some holiday art now that I am home. I got everything out before I left, so maybe today. Have a wonderful end of your weekend. Hugs-Erika
Love your colourful cards, the cats are fabulous.
You put a LOT of work into those cards. I especially love the cats in their jammies. Beautifully done.
