Hello friends, and Happy Thursday!

Today I went out to quickly grab something from a petrol station which turned out to be closed for some kind of refit, so I headed to the closest supermarket but the road was full of roadworks and my quick outing ended up taking over an hour!!!  So I had to come up with a Plan B for today’s art offering as it was too late to work on what I had originally planned.

today’s art . . .

Today I am sharing a pair of tags that will actually fit in with quite a few current challenges so it all worked out in the end.  This is my Day 25 offering for Art Every Day Month. All links are at the end of the post.

I hope you’re not tired of seeing these same stamps again but I actually stamped these two images first before all the others, coloured them, and painted the backgrounds with watercolours and then wondered what I was going to do with them.  I put them aside (luckily) while I worked on some other things and then today when I was short of time, I remembered them just in time to make these tags and get them photographed before it got too dark!

The stamps are again from the new set by Lynne Perella for Paperartsy, and the text is from the older Winter set by Alison Bomber.  I coloured the stamps with my Pitt artist pens and the text is stamped with Versafine Clair ink.  After all that was done and I glued them to their amazon cardboard bases, I thought they could use some extra bling, so I added some little tiny white flowers that look a bit like snow, and then I added some Stickles on top of the flowers and on top of all of the jewellery on her majesty, so the necklace, the earrings, the crown, her hairnet etc.  You can just see the sparkle in the photo above.

Here you can see his bling has been blinged up too, although he doesn’t look very impressed with my efforts LOL.  I found some snowflake embellishments in a drawer so I added them to the tags, one on each crown and an extra beside the words.

I think they will look really cool (no pun intended) on some of my Christmas gifts.  I added this white pom pom ribbon to each of them to match the gift.

thursday art date – stripes . . .

When I saw it was going to be stripes this week, I put aside this cardboard box that contained chocolate chip cookies (the cookies are long gone) and then when it came to making something with it, I couldn’t find it!

So I can show the photo of the box with the stripes but that’s all.  I ran out of time to make something with it after I eventually found it again.  What I can show you though is a beautiful stripey cat…

This is Miss P, sadly no longer with us, but always in our hearts.  She’s a tabby cat and her stripey markings were really quite something in real life.  This is a photo of a photo I took today and doesn’t quite do her justice.  She was a beautiful girl.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Paperartsy stamps, Stazon ink, Versafine Clair ink, watercolour paper, amazon box, pom pom ribbon, Pitt artist pens, stickles, snowflake stickers, glue, leftover tiny diecut flowers, Distress archival ink, black pen,

Hi Elle 🙂 Oh Miss P. looks like our cat Dana. He’s a wiley tabby. Just the mention of cookies gets my appetite going lol…your tags are so beautiful, love the bling! Actually those two characters look a LOT like images of Queens and Kings from Tarot decks, pretty cool! ?

I like the way you combined Lynne’s stamp with Alison’s text, and I also like the way you decorated the king and queen. Gorgeous tags! Thank you for joining the November challenge of the Country View Challenges!

Your post made me smile! I lose things all the time when crafting too and plan Bs are often activated! Plus Miss P looks lovely and strokable… But back to the art, I love the way you added the snowflakes to change the characters into Kings and queen “of the North”.
Thanks for playing with us at Country View Challenges this month!
