Hello friends, and Happy Winter Solstice Tuesday!
I’m a bit late posting today due to all the Christmas stuff that has to be done today so that I can relax for the rest of the week. Well it is definitely winter, a top of 3C today and a low of 1C. Inside the house it is a glorious 8C haha we have no heating and we won’t have probably for the whole of winter, so that’s just how it is and let’s move on and not think about it la la la.
today’s art . . .
Today’s art is some mail art envelopes and some stamped kraft wrapping paper that I am using to wrap up some big presents.
There a bit of dodgy stamping on there since I was stamping on a table instead of something with a bit of give in it but I can work around the dodgy bits. Here are two of the presents wrapped up but it was too late/dark to get any photos of the presents wrapped in the other more Christmassy paper.
I posted the last of the local cards today, and so I thought I would decorate the envelopes and give the postman and the recipients something less boring to look at when they are delivered.
Yesterday there was one solitary rose still growing on the top of the rose bush and it was covered in frost. I brought it inside to try and rescue the poor thing instead of leaving it outside to freeze solid – not that it’s much warmer inside haha but at least there’s no frost!
t stands for . . .
Apart from writing out cards today I also made more tablet. Here’s a photo of it just getting started – it requires constant stirring to stop it from burning.
If everything goes well, it will end up looking like this 🙂 This photo is making it look darker than it is, it’s actually a bit paler.
Finally, for tea, I thought I would show you one of my teapots. This is one of those sets where the teapot sits on top of the cup, and gives you enough tea for one cup and a top up – which is not enough tea in my opinion!
Let me know what you think in the comments. Tomorrow I will be Guest Designer on another blog, so stay tuned for that! As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Beautiful handmade wrapping paper – I should do this as well but I’m probably way too lazy for that. I like the card with the cats, it’s beautiful. Merry Christmas to you.
Beautiful stamped art crafting. Happy Holidays!
Wishing you Joy and warmth
Ok, so I had to do a bit of math and figure out what C means in F degrees. Oh, my GOODNESS, girl! What is with that? Do you just not have a heat source or is it broken and no repairmen in sight like here in the States? I wish I could send you some of our heat! I’ve lived in houses heated only with wood stoves, so I feel your pain, and lalala is the only thing you can do. I love your artwork, your yummies and that teapot. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and some HEAT!
Lovely wrapping paper. That candy looks sooooo good and I love the tea set. Have a great day.
Elle, I hope you stay warm – especially for Christmas! All your creations (art and food) look fabulous. Would be fun to visit you!!! Love your teapot set – so pretty and fun. One cup is never enough! Thanks for all your inspriation this year and your sweet comments. You inspire me. Merry Christmas and happy T-day! Hugz
Sorry to hear about your heat situation Elle. You are a brave woman going without it all winter. I am loving your stamped paper and envelopes. They look wonderful and very festive. And I need to try that tablet. I am curious about it, and I think I would like to try making it. And that’s a beautiful teapot and cup. Keep it filled with warm tea to stay warm. I hope you have a happy Christmas and I hope your T day has been wonderful too. Hugs-Erika
What no heating for the rest of the winter? I wouldn’t survive! I light the fire when it’s 19 degrees C in the house. And our outside temperature is not that cold yet (was 17 C today in the day time)
I love your home made wrapping paper. Absolutely beautiful. As are the stamped envelopes etc.
I’m intrigued by your ‘tablet’. Would that be fudge in Europe? It looks like fudge, unless it is hard and then I would call it toffee.
Your tea pot is delightful, but I agree with you that one cup is never enough.
Greetings from sunny Spain,
Merry Christmas and a very happy and healthy 2022 to you and yours.
Lisca
It doesn’t look like the cold has effected your creativity. Your teapot for one is very pretty. Happy T Day
I hope by now your heat has been fixed. When I need wrapping paper at Christmas, I remove the red rosin paper that covers my work table after I stamp images on it. Mine are more random than yours, because you line your stamps up beautifully. I am in AWE of the envelopes. They turned out great.
I love your little teapot and cup combo. I have two of them, but they are NOWHERE as pretty as yours. In fact, mine are both quite plain. Thanks for sharing your gift wrap and teapot/cup combination with us for T this Tuesday, dear Elle.
I am a bit confused. What is tablet? I thought it looked like candy at first. Maybe you could explain because I fear I have missed something along the way. Have a safe, joyous, healthy holiday, dear.
