Hello friends!
I have a lot on at the moment so I have not been posting as regularly as I normally do, not least some sick and injured kitties. 🙁 However, today we have my DT inspiration project for this month’s challenge over on More Than Words…
today’s art . . .
Today’s offering is this pair of tags that I made as my DT inspiration for MTW Mini Challenge for February where the word inspiration is BLOOM. You can find the challenge details at the end of this post, do join in if you feel inspired.
I am in the messy middle of decluttering my house and moving things around so I don’t have access to all my supplies. I pulled out what I could find…
I did this cherry blossom stamping a few years, yes years, ago, and never used it for anything, so I thought I would use it to make my tags and back them onto some manilla tags that had some bad stamping on them. I didn’t throw them out because I could use the other side that hadn’t been stamped on. Sometimes saving things for years pays off lol.
I thought it would be nice to give my kitty something to sit on, so I used this old cardboard brick stencil and some grunge paste to make the wall. This cardboard stencil was cut using a die and was only ever meant to be a temporary stencil but it just keeps going and going, so I am still using it years later!
My lovely kitty comes from a bag of cat food – isn’t she pretty? I added these puffy stickers for the words BLOOM and FLY and then some Tim Holtz words underneath but I had to cut up some of his phrases to be able to make the words I wanted to. I have to say that I am expecting to see a lot of my least favourite phrase “bloom where you’re planted” on this month’s entries. I really want to scream when people say that, so I thought i would say instead that you should bloom anywhere. I hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month. This mini challenge is held in the Art Cafe Facebook Group which you can find here.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
