Hello friends!

Happy Friday!  I was up early this morning working on this page before I had to leave the house to do boring stuff – not that there was much to do to it!  I have just signed up for the early bird special for Wanderlust 2023.  I was in two minds whether or not to do it next year as I have not been very productive with it this year (read not at all).  In 2021 I think I did about half the lessons but did manage to watch nearly all the videos.  This year I have done NONE of the lessons and watched NONE of the videos!  So that was worth the money, wasn’t it?  LOL  I can’t really explain why I haven’t because when I signed up in August last year, I was very excited about the new format and the teachers, and the fact that Laly Mille was going to be co-hosting and doing several lessons instead of just one.  But I guess by the time January rolled around, I was too busy? in a different place? had a different set of priorities? I don’t know but I do know that for the first few months of the year I spent a lot of time fixing up the house so there really wasn’t time to do any extra things. I was also just happy “doing my own thing” this year rather than following any lesson, but I am comforted by the fact that there is “lifetime access” so maybe between now and 2023, I can do some catching up and get back into the swing of it again in time for 2023 classes!

Today’s Art . . .

For today’s art I am sharing the page for Day 26 of my #eotcartjournalaugust prompt which was FOREST

Day 26 Forest #eotcartjournalaugust

This page is the facing page for yesterday’s prompt, so you can see how that page started before I drew a big face on top of it.
Yes this looks like a completed page before I even did anything to it because it is a piece of wrapping paper I saved from a present I received a few Christmases ago.  I have a lovely friend who always has the best wrapping paper and all the boxes come wrapped in wonderful paper instead of dull brown cardboard boxes, so I save all the papers she sends me.

So all I really did with this page was get out my white pen and draw lines to highlight what was already there.  I did it first thing this morning and it was very meditative, just me, the cats, my coffee, and the birds signing outside the open window.  I think everyone else was asleep as I heard no other noise – oh yes and I was listening to a book by CJ Cooke, called The Nesting, which coincidentally involved a Norwegian forest.

The only other thing I did to the page was add this quote by John Muir.

To the forest I will go, to lose my mind and find my soul

The page on the left is the for the Day 25 prompt – Green or Blue which you may have seen already.  I am tempted to draw the rest of her face on the forest page but then that would cover up those lovely birch trees.

I am also linking this up to Nicole’s Friday Face Off – link is below.  I have a stag face and a parrot face and a partial human girl face on this page. The instagram post will be up around 7pm my time (ie GMT).

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!

This turned out great, Elle. I grip my pens too tightly, so the circulation in my hand is cut off. I think this must have been a real joy for you. Meditative, cats, coffee, quiet. What more could you ask for, right?

I remember in January you were doing your big clean out. I’m not very good at classes online lately either, so I can understand what you are thinking. But what a great page you made for today. This page has so much depth, and you really created a magical scene. Hugs-Erika
