Hi Friends,

Happy Wednesday!   We are more than half way through the month and so far I have created a page for each – can I keep this up?  Don’t know, but today I am sharing a double page based on two of my daily prompts.  Who knew there was a Goldilocks musical?  Not me!  But that might be because it was a 1950s FLOP!

Today’s Art . . .

Today’s art is a page using my Day 18 and 19 prompts:  Goldilocks and Music

I haven’t been planning ahead so putting the Goldilocks prompt and the music prompt next to each other on the list was not a plan for anything.  So when I was wondering what to do with the page, I googled “Goldilocks music” and imagine my surprise when “Goldilocks the musical” popped up in the results!  I had never heard of it but apparently it was a flop in 1958, short lived with only 161 performances and bad critic reviews.  You can listen to some of the songs from the show here, including Who’s Been Sitting In My Chair.

I printed off some of the sheet music from the show and a copy of the old poster which shows “Goldilocks” and presumably a man in a bear suit lol.

After I collaged them on to the page, I coloured them with pink and orange neocolours.

I am on a roll with this magazine I found in a pile in the spare room – this is the third page in a row that I have made using images from it and they have been just what I needed.  This Goldilocks looks a little murder-y doesn’t she, like you wouldn’t dare sit in her chair or eat her porridge!  Just what did happen to those bears?

And if that’s not enough proof of her murderous intentions, just look at the badge she is wearing!

Even simple things were enough to set Goldilocks off on a rampage, although I agree with her on Mariah Carey lol.

Not so much innocent dancing-with-a-man-in-a-bear-suit victim than suspected serial killer hmmm?

Hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month and have fun with it!

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!

Daily Prompts

Here are the prompts I will be using and you can probably tell that a lot of them are related to fairytales, but you don’t have to use them that way or you don’t have to use them at all.  I will be attempting all 31 days but I may not make it and that’s OK too.  The prompts are there if you feel stuck or in need of extra inspiration.   I just respond well to a daily prompt and I will also be sharing my pages on Instagram.  If you share your work on Instagram there is a hashtag.  Please note, that to enter the Art Journal Journey challenge using the Mr Linky tool, you will have to link from a blog since it is a blog challenge.

Or you can ignore the daily prompts completely and focus on the overarching theme for the month.  The daily prompts are there if you want to make more pages but need some extra prompting.

Wow! Who knew Goldilocks was a psychopath? LOL! I love this take on that classic tale.

I noticed this background on your post the other day, and I was curious. It’s great, and who knew Goldilocks was so musical. Well maybe not if she was a 1950’s flop. That’s a great image of Goldilocks too. I like this page. It’s lots of fun. Hope your week is going well. hugs-Erika
