Hi Friends,
Happy new week! Today I have another double page to share based on today’s prompt.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is a double page spread using my Day 24 prompt: Mythical Beasts
I again covered my page with the same paper as in the Enchantment page, although you can see more of it in this page. Then I adhered two images that I had printed out quite a while ago and I no longer know where they came from but I thought the white stag might be useful for this challenge and had set it aside. And since I was thinking about white stags, it really had to be a Harry Potter inspired page, for of course Harry’s Patronus is a white stag! As for the lady on the right side, she is probably some kind of tree spirit, and definitely qualifies as a mythical beast/creature. I also added some washi stickers – the owl (Perhaps Hedwig!) and some mushrooms, and a little die cut mushroom and berries leftover from ancient projects.
Yes I am using some page clippings from a Harry Potter book, the same one I’ve been using in a few projects lately. It was a copy from a charity shop that cost me 10p so at least I am putting it to use and I don’t feel bad about ripping it up. White stags appear in many folklore stories not only Harry Potter, so while HP is not a fairytale, the white stag is a folklore favourite and you can read more about the symbolism here.
I also splattered gold ink across the background and around the edges of the page.
Hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month and have fun with it!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!

Daily Prompts
Here are the prompts I will be using and you can probably tell that a lot of them are related to fairytales, but you don’t have to use them that way or you don’t have to use them at all. I will be attempting all 31 days but I may not make it and that’s OK too. The prompts are there if you feel stuck or in need of extra inspiration. I just respond well to a daily prompt and I will also be sharing my pages on Instagram. If you share your work on Instagram there is a hashtag. Please note, that to enter the Art Journal Journey challenge using the Mr Linky tool, you will have to link from a blog since it is a blog challenge.
Or you can ignore the daily prompts completely and focus on the overarching theme for the month. The daily prompts are there if you want to make more pages but need some extra prompting.
I’ve never seen anything Harry Potter, Not books or movies. However I was quite impressed with your stag beast. I also liked the tree spirit. A really great entry for AJJ using your theme, dear.
So glad to see Harry Potter featured, those books were magic for me, I loved them, and the films. And today I found your wonderful envelope and postcard in my letter box, it’s all so beautiful, and the Harry potter stamps are a joy to see. I will post my lovely envelope and card next week on T Day, if that’s okay with you! Hugs, Valerie
The hands really always steal the show a bit! Great pages, especially the woman!
Oh I am loving your page today. I started a HP page but then I got stuck, and didn’t know where to go with it. I am glad to see someone else had that idea, and actually completed a page. Nice idea to go with the Patronus. I like the gold too. Fun page Elle. It even goes with my T day post. hugs-Erika
