Hi Friends,

I am trying to catch up a bit with the journalling events that I planned to join this month, and I’m feeling quite good that I am up to date with Care December and working my way through the other two challenges.  The main issue at the moment is having so little good light to take the photos – approx a hour a day lol – so I need to be quick and home at the right time!  If you haven’t heard of this event, Care December is held by the Wanderlust people, Everything Art UK, it’s a free event that anyone can join on their website.

Today’s Art . . .

About today’s pages:  This background is sprayed with Distress Oxide Speckled Egg and Infusions and splattered with gold paint.  I really like those darker patches at the top of the page where it has collected in the cracks of the diecuts.  I used some of my handmade stamps and some brown stazon ink for this page, a branch stamp, a leaf stamp and the wild nature love round stamp. On the facing page I used the sparrow on the fence and some scraps of brown paper featuring Christmas trees.

Care December Day 10

I used some of my own stamps for this page.

Care December Day 11

About the journal:  This entire journal is made from handmade paper and all the negative pieces leftover from diecutting all those Christmas cards a few weeks ago.  I was using A4 paper for all the diecutting and so I was left with all of that diecutting waste, so I decided I would use it for the background of my pages.  On top of that I sprayed either Infusions, or Distress Oxide or a combination of both, so for a change the inside of my journal has a consistent look!  I am also using some old paper that I found in a drawer, it’s a book of hmm I guess like a cardmaking kit, so there are lots of elements that you are supposed to assemble into cards.  It cost me £3 years ago and I liked the wintry images, so I figured I would try and use it up in this journal and see how it went.  I also typed out all the daily prompts and printed them out and glued them to each page.

Since this page is very wintry I am also sharing it with Jo’s theme of Snowy Winter over on Art Journal Journey (link below).

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!

You have some incredible carvings. I’m incredibly impressed. They worked so well on the stamp carving page, too. I never thought of bird’s eye view in that light. really different and clever. Thanks for another two page spread for AJJ using Jo’s theme.
