Happy Tuesday Friends!

It’s been a bit of a struggle getting back into the swing of things, and I’m not quite there yet.  I seem to have missed most of March which included two family birthdays, one of which was mine.

What tends to happen is that I don’t give myself enough time to get back to normal, but this time I decided to take it slow and not rush anything which could result in feeling worse. So if you were to check out the March posts you will find that there are very few of them, four to be exact!  I did practically nothing last month, no art at all really, but since I was horizontal, I did get through quite a lot of books!   I will be quick with this post too as I don’t want to be sitting for too long.

Today’s Art . . .

Today’s art is my April calendar journal page, which was created using magazine and gardening catalogue images and paint.  I am using my recycled/repurposed bullet journal still, and the images have been cut from magazines and gardening catalogues, and blended together with paint.

Currently Reading . . .

book cover of Reconstruction

I’m currently reading this book by Mick Herron, I really enjoy his writing so I am working my way through all his back catalogue.

Jaime is trying to find his lover, Miro, who is missing together with a huge sum of money intended for reconstruction work in Iraq. Those outside the nursery school where he has taken hostages would like Jaime silenced.

TOTAL for 2023
48 books

APRIL (so far) 2

47.  Mick Herron – Dolphin Junction – a collection of stories    :star: :star: :star:  :star:  :star:
48.  Mick Herron – Smoke and Whispers – Oxford 4   :star: :star: :star:  :star:  :star:

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading.

Fabulous way to frame this month’s calendar, Elle. Super pretty and spot on! Glad you are getting back to feeling better – stay slow so you don’t relapse. Hugz

So sorry to read you have not been well. I checked a couple of times the first part of March and now I know you have not been well.

Not only is your calendar recycled, so are those images you used. I love old magazines and catalogues. They have great photos. You seem to have picked the best, too. You put a lot of work into these pages wit all those white dots. Thanks for sharing this wonderful April calendar with us At Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard’s and my theme, Elle.

I’m sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well for most of March. And that you missed your birthday too. That’s no fun. This is a great calendar Elle. I love the combo of magazine photos and painting. Thanks for joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth at AJJ. And I am very impressed with all the books you’ve read too. You might make 200 this year at the speed you’re reading. That would be something, but I do understand that when your not feeling great reading is a good thing to fill your time. Happy Easter weekend Elle. hugs-Erika
