As mentioned in my earlier post, I intended to save this till next week but then I edited all the photos so it made sense to get it posted and out of the way.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is a page for AJJ’s May theme of flowers, definitely my last one for the month. Thanks for the lovely theme Aimeslee. We had another bank holiday on Monday, so I was able to spend some time just sitting in the garden and doing a bit of sketching – it’s rare that the weather co-operates to make this possible so I took advantage.
I was trying to draw what was in front of me, so I started with the black fencing and the big comfrey plant.
After that, I started making it up lol. But I did get two pages done and had fun just sitting there in the shade and scribbling away in my journal.
This sort of looks like the bottom of the garden but I do not have green fields on the other side of my trellis lol. Also there are no orange cats around. There are no flowers on either side of the veggies but I am going to plant some wildflowers there. Also there really is a big poppy plant in that spot next to the trellis on the right and blossom on the apple trees.
The fence is fairly accurate but the flowers on the comfrey plant are purple not magenta (you can see them in the photo of the plant), but I was working with limited supplies and I couldn’t get the colour I wanted. Again, there are no orange cats around here but I just wanted to draw one.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!
