Happy New Month!
The Chinese Year of the Dragon starts on 10th February and I for one am pleased to say goodbye to the Year of the Rabbit! For this month’s challenge, we can be inspired by the Year of the Dragon, the lucky colour RED or our element in Chinese Astrology. My element is water, but if you don’t know what yours is, there is a very easy way to find out – just read the MTW challenge announcement in today’s post.
As it is the very first day of the month, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for February at More Than Words with you.
This month’s challenge was a fun one. I already knew that my element was water and that I wanted to use both it and my word of the year. As this month will also welcome in the Year of the Dragon I wanted to include a dragon and then I found these red flowers which gave me a red element too so I managed all four options in one page and that made me pretty happy!
My WOTY is READY and so I added in the statement “Je suis prêt” which is French for “I am ready”. If you look closely just below the words you will see a row of three paper lanterns with another row of smaller lanterns underneath, and so I am also linking this page to this month’s “Keeping it Light” theme over on Art Journal Journey.
I hope you can join us this month and in our year of creativity. If you have chosen your word of the year or if you know your Chinese element, let me know in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

What an amazing page! I so love all of these elements you’ve combined with the different prompts like the red dragon! The lanterns added are such a brilliant idea in keeping with all of these themes! I love it!! Thanks for sharing your inspiration!
I plan to join the year of the emerald green wood dragon on the 12th when it actually begins. This is a lovely addition to Vicki’s theme at AJJ, too, dear Elle.
Impressive!!!
Much?love
Not sure what my element is in Chinese zodiac. But I was born in year of the rat.
And thanks Elle for linking up to AJJ. I forgot to mention it in my earlier comment. 🙂
What a fun collage Elle. You have so many great images. I like the new theme too. I will have to see if I can make another dragon page, or something red. Happy February Elle. hugs-Erika
Fabulous page Elle! I think the New Year Dragon parades will be really special this year! Thanks for sharing this colourful page at Art Journal Journey, Hugs, Chrisx
I am also celebrating the year of the Dragon. This piece is truly beautiful.
