Hi Friends!
TGIF! Hope you had a good week. Mine is so so due to the knee and the lack of mobility but you can read more about that in this post if you want. Moving on…
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is a page for Week 4 of the #seekgathercreate challenge over on Instagram. This is a scavenger hunt type challenge, where you are given a list of items which you have to use on your project. This week’s items were 1. abstract florals 2. colour green 3. something that fastens 4. an insect.
I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to create something for this week but I really wanted to make an effort to complete the four week challenge. Weirdly all three of my previous week’s pages have all been predominately blue and so when the colour green was listed as one of the items, it kind of threw me a little. I don’t know why as I could still have made another blue page with a small amount of green on it and then all my pages would match – though why I needed that to happen I really don’t know lol. Then for my insect I wanted to use a big bee stamp that I was so sure that I owned but I couldn’t look properly for it (crutches and dodgy knee) and I didn’t find it. So I gave up and used insects on pattern paper that happened to be still near my table from last year. I used various papers, and the beetle tag as my focal point. I gave it a hinge so that it opens and is fastened using a gold paper fastener and green sari silk to the gold gel pressed tag on the right.
Saturday is the last day of the challenge so there’s just enough time to enter if you want.
