Happy Wednesday!

Nothing much has changed here, I am still on crutches, and going a bit stir crazy.    I have been doing more crochet on the couch, just keeping up with my temperature blanket and getting to enjoy some new colours for the warmer temperatures.

It’s proving to be very appealing to Miss Lily, who keeps wanting to sit on it while I’m trying to crochet – not awkward at all!

Most of my garden is completely overgrown with weeds and looking very jungle-like since I can’t get out there to cut everything, and there are hardly any flowers, though my neighbour has lots.  This rock rose is one of things that is flowering though and is very attractive to the bees.  The bumble bee below is about 3cm long!

Today’s art . . .

So here we are heading towards the end of May and I have only just completed my May calendar page.  I had to sweep the cobwebs and dust off my art table (kidding – just).  I am still using my old A4 bullet journal and so for this page I had to paint over everything on the page as there was quite a bit of old bullet journalling on there. I painted it with this lovely Summer Sky Fresco paint from Paperartsy and then since it is May and the garden is beginning to wake up, I covered it with flowers.  The petals and leaves I cut from some of the gel prints I made back in March. A few leaves I cut from some leafy wallpaper samples.

I’m linking this page to the new theme over on Art Journal Journey which is Poems hosted by Valerie and Erika.  My little rhyme is one we learned at school and I believe most countries in this hemisphere have a variation on it. My friend in Holland also has something similar which I must ask her to translate for me again and I will put it here.  Here it is:

Maart roert zijn staart.
April doet wat hij wil.
In mei leggen alle vogels een ei.
Groeizame regen in mei.

March stirs its tail.
April does what he wants.
In May all birds lay an egg.
Growing rain in May.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

Sorry to hear the knee hasn’t seem to make a lot of improvement and you are still on the couch. But your crochet blanket looks amazing. And i’m glad Miss Lily likes it too-grin. Your calendar is perfect for May. I love the flowers. May is all about blooming, isn’t it? (Too bad you can’t work in yours). And that’s a great little poem too. Thanks for joining Valerie and myself and AJJ. It is appreciated.. I hope your knee gets some help soon. hugs-Erika

Hi Elle, sorry to hear you are still more or less chained to your chair, and hope it will soon be better. I mean, of course, your leg and not the chair! At least Miss Lily is happy on your lap! Your calendar pages are wonderful, and thanks for linking to us at AJJ. It’s been fun for me hosting with Erika! Get better soon, hugs, Valerie
