Today I’m sharing my take on the Week 3 MTW September challenge. This is not my official week but I wanted to make something anyway. There are four Weekly challenges again this month, all held on Instagram, with daily inspiration from the Design Team. As I am a blogger, I am sharing it on my blog too.
Artstacks is sponsoring the challenges again and we have some cool Guest Designers too – this week is the fabulous Sarah Gardner (@juicy.s.art) I’m a bit of a fan! Here’s a look at the Week 3 challenge which started today on the 19th and ends on the 25th.
Today’s Art
This page already had a pink stencilled background and so on top of that I painted some rainbows in non-traditional rainbow colours – just colours I wanted to use and felt would look good together. I then used a stamp to stamp out “happy thoughts” and the small black hearts.
I die cut the letters for HAPPY a few times and layered them up and painted them purple. Then I used a gold paint pen to add some shiny metallic detail to the page.
My four weekly DT projects are all contained in this concertina book that I made back in May during the Mixed Media Masters event. Here’s a look at the backgrounds in this book, since I am also sharing this page with Art Journal Journey’s September theme which is “Make Your Own Background” as chosen by this month’s host Mia. On the left is one side of the book and on the right, the flip side. It’s this side that I am using for my background today. It was made with some stencils and pink crayons.
