Hi Friends!

I hope you are all doing well.  Unfortunately I have injured my back (a problem that happens from time to time) and so for a few days now it has been difficult to sit for any length of time or at all, so I am a bit behind with some things and I am in pain.  It’s taken me FOREVER to write this post!  So if I haven’t visited yet that will be the reason – I can’t sit down!  Luckily I am used to this particular problem and so I am wearing a metal brace on my back and doing a few other things that make it easier until such time as it gets back to normal. It’s not great though to have this AND the knee thing. It is also school holidays here and I had so many things I wanted to get done this week which will now all have to wait.  Also we were promised FIVE DAYS of sunshine and no rain this week BUT it has been cloudy and misty all day and set to continue – how annoying is that?  It’s a typical time to get the garden tidied up before winter but now that will have to wait too.  Anyway, enough moaning, let’s get on with the good stuff!

My theme for this month is Steampunk, Halloween OR Steampunk Halloween.

Today’s Art . . .

This is my third page for October.  I planned to fill my October journal but at this rate I can’t see it happening.  I started this before the back thing, and then could do nothing. After a few days, I decided to lie on the floor and try to finish it, so this is the result.

It sat on my desk like this for such a long time!

Then I was able to paint the cat on and draw in the pumpkin shapes, and that’s where it remained for about 4 days.

Here are my muses:

Miss P in her pin-up pose against her leopard-print cushion.

Miss Lily and her brother, Mr G, waiting for cat treats.  She has been a little unwell again but I haven’t taken her to the vet this time as I think it is all related to issues with hairballs.

She has a new box to play in, so she’s happy.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading, Happy Journalling and Happy Halloween!

I love this page. It is definitely a lot of fun and not spooky. but works great for your challenge Elle. I’m glad the spider is smiling. The kitty photos for your inspiration made me smile too. You have Halloween everyday with those kitties-being black (and a bit of white on Miss P. ) And so sorry to read about your back. Between that and your knee you must feel like you’re 100 years old. Glad you were able to get to this piece though because it could be printed and sold. Hope your weather clears out too. Yesterday we finally had some rain and today it’s just grey and blah. hugs-Erika
