Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well and and Happy New Year!  I am really pleased to have managed ONE blog post so far this year!  I really must do better next month!  Anyway, here’s a look at my page for this month.

Today’s Art . . .

It is of course, my January calendar journal page, and it is inspired by Erika’s January theme of What’s Up? on Art Journal Journey.  I liked her second suggestion for this theme of “what have you been doing” and so I based my page on things that have been happening this month.

These things include the following (clockwise) :
– my word of the year – wholeness, with some supporting words (nourish, enriching, flourish)
– yoga
– my Christmas cactus (still in flower since the week before Christmas) Photo above
– Happy New Year!
– Cat Cafe –  multiple visits so far this month!
– Reading more books
– Miss P’s birthday (now 12) and vaccinations (and yesterday Miss Lily back at the vet for her usual problem) 🙁
– crocheting
– my sister’s birthday and the cake I made (vegan coffee walnut cake – a favourite!) Photo above
– The new season of the Great Pottery Throw Down (love this show!)
– my winter anemone is in flower!  I brought it into the kitchen when we had the minus 5 temps and she rewarded me by bursting into flower 🙂 Photo above

I used watercolour pencils for the colouring but I didn’t activate them with water – they are just nice to colour with – and then went over some of the outlines with a black pen.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!

It sounds like a good month, and I’m glad you went with a What’s Happening With You take on my AJJ. theme. It makes a super calendar page. . That coffee walnut cake looks amazing. I have Mary Berry’s recipe and one of these days I am going to try it. And it looks like 2026 has started off well too, but I suppose crutches are still being used? Hope it’s been a good reading month too. Thanks for linking up to AJJ, and I hope the rest of your month is fantastic too, hugs-Erika
ps- I never got to finish my New Years cards so I think I’ll go with Valentine’s Day ones. Grin

Happy New Year, Elle with cats!
What a beautiful, colorful month January has been!
You’ve already accomplished so much, and there’s still so much to do!
Have a good rest of January!
Hugs Elke
