Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well. Well look at me posting my September calendar page and it’s only the 3rd of September!  Off to a good start here for this month lol.  I’ve been very uninspired over the summer but this month, the More Than Words weekly challenges are back so I will have a few more pages to share this month.

Today’s art . . .

This is of course intended for this month’s theme on Art Journal Journey which is “Make Your Own Background” as chosen by this month’s host Mia.

I’ve been trying to tidy up the art room – seems like I am forever doing that haha – and yet it never seems to look any better.  I’m sure I’m not alone there!  Anyway I found all of these images that i had printed out to use last year but for some reason I didn’t need them, and since they were all shades of pink I thought they would look nice in my journal.  I had planned to do something seasonal, but I went in a totally different direction and ended up with a pink page!

The page is made from my old calendar page, and all of the little pink images fitted around it.  Then I used some Jane Davenport crayons around the edges, wrote out the month and year with a white pen and outlined them with a gold Posca, and it was done!

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Oh yes, Elle! I totally get you! My craft room is a disaster even after I clean it up! Haha! And I absolutely adore your pink calendar pages! I love how you used images from last year and paired them with the color pink! It’s so creative and looks incredible! I hope your September is going well so far! Hugs, Sharon

Your pink calendar page feels fresh and uplifting, wonderful way to reuse old prints and give them new life in your journal.

Happy September to you Elle. I love that you were able to get your calendar posted so early. And yes, like you and probably so many other, I know what you mean about art space cleaning- I need to do another one. Nice calendar.. I think it still has an autumn feel, and it was a great use of those photos.. Thanks for joining Mia. And have a super rest of your week. hugs-Erika
