Hi Friends!

Today I’m sharing my Week 2 DT project for MTW September challenge.  There are four Weekly challenges again this month, all held on Instagram, with daily inspiration from the Design Team.  As I am a blogger, I am sharing it on my blog too.

Artstacks is sponsoring the challenges again and we have some cool Guest Designers too.   Here’s a look at the Week 2 challenge which started today on the 12th and ends on the 18th.

Today’s Art

This page already had a pink stencilled background and so on top of that I layered various black and white elements including some leftovers from last week’s page and some washi tape.  The stapes can be seen above the bird’s head, holding the two pieces of paper together to make an arch, and also just below the right hand side of the branch on the dotted circle, and next to the big 24 on the bottom right. The bird and “be amazing” came from the free printables from the April challenges, and the BOLD was made from some alphabet stickers.  (On the top right corner you can just get a sneak peek of next week’s page!)

My four weekly DT projects are all contained in this concertina book that I made back in May during the Mixed Media Masters event.  Here’s a look at the backgrounds in this book, since I am also sharing this page with  Art Journal Journey’s September theme which is “Make Your Own Background” as chosen by this month’s host Mia.  On the left is one side of the book and on the right, the flip side.  It’s this side that I am using for my background today.  It was made with some stencils and pink crayons.

I hope you find the new MTW challenges interesting and that you can join us if you are on Instagram.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

I expected to be greeted by a cat but instead I got a bird. And such a pretty colourful bird it was. Loving your background Elle, , All the little additions like the numbers and the archway, the black against the pink – a great background and a great quote for this amazing little bird.
Hugs, Neet xx

I like how you made this page. This must make a cool page in your book. It’s another great page for MIa’s challenge. I’m in New Scotland on vacation right now (Nova Scotia), and that made me think of you since you’re from Scotland. Hope all is well. hugs-Erika

I love how you used the prompts o well. Your black and white entry (with staples) goes beautifully with Mia’s theme at AJJ. Most impressive.
