Hi Friends!

Today I’m sharing my Week 4 DT project for MTW September challenge.  This the the final Instagram challenge for September. It’s been really great seeing all the daily inspiration from the Design Team and Guest Designers all month long.  As I am a blogger, I am of course, sharing it on my blog too.

Artstacks is sponsoring the challenges again and we have some cool Guest Designers too – this week is Kim Hamburg (@gluepaperscissors_)  Here’s a look at the Week 4 challenge which started today on the 26th and ends on October 2nd.

Today’s Art

This is probably my favourite of this month’s challenges since it incorporates both PINK and COLLAGE, two of my favourite things in art.  I am not exactly a pink person but saying that I am wearing a pink bath robe right now – how did that happen! ? !   As before, this page already had the pink stencilled background, so I layered up various bits of paper that were lying around on my desk until I was happy with the layout.  It ended up being a lot of pink and green which was not a plan, just seems to be a lot of those colours within arms reach.  Let’s see, there is some gift wrap, some painted book paper cut into flower shapes, some corrugated card, some Tony’s green and pink chocolate wrapper, some handmade paper from India, some Paisley patterned scrapbook paper, some gel prints, some embossed card (pink crochet pattern, and green fir tree pattern) and some gold washi tape.  The focal image comes from a printable I had left over from another project.  WONDERFUL is made from some black alphabet stickers.  There is also some white and gold splatter on top, oh and a  Tim Holtz quote sticker!

All four of my DT projects this month, are all contained in this concertina book that I made back in May during the Mixed Media Masters event.  Here’s a look at the backgrounds in this book, since I am also sharing this page with  Art Journal Journey’s September theme which is “Make Your Own Background” as chosen by this month’s host Mia.  On the left is one side of the book and on the right, the flip side.  I’m used the flipside for my background today.  It was made with some stencils and pink crayons on some large sheets of watercolour paper.

I hope you find the new MTW challenges interesting and that you can join us if you are on Instagram.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

You packed a LOT into that journal page. I was impressed by how well everything worked together, including the background that peeked through in places. I truly like the wonderful pink collage (grin). Thanks for another great entry for Mia’s theme at AJJ.

I like this page. Like you, pink and collage are 2 super things to use in art. I don’t wear tons of pink either, and there is no pink room in my house, but pink is a good art color for certain. It’s playful and fun. I hope the month wraps up in a good way. hugs-Erika
Oh and I almost forgot, thanks for joining Mia at AJJ also. 🙂
