I’m so excited to be Guest Host over on Art Journal Journey again for the fourth time. It would have been the fifth time if I had been able to host last year but unfortunately I had to drop out due to those pesky health issues (and yes I am still on crutches!)

My theme for this month is Steampunk, Halloween OR Steampunk Halloween.
Today’s Art . . .

My second page for October is my calendar page. As usual I have made it in my old recycled A4 bullet journal. I do this by covering up all the old bullet journal stuff and photocopying an old calendar page that has the right days and dates. Then I block out any public holidays etc from the old calendar with some white-out, and get to work on decorating the page.
Sometimes an art journal page inspires other arty creations and sometimes it’s the other way round! It’s like the old chicken or the egg, which came first? In this case, the cards came first and inspired my calendar page! I have only made six cards this year and I am not posting internationally as the price is becoming prohibitive for me, and two of these are being delivered by hand because local postage is not much better!
Anyway, back to the journal page, here are a few close ups.
I found these little iridescent Halloween stickers in the supermarket a few weeks ago and I bought them specifically to use on my art this month. Above the glittery cat on the broom and the glittery ghost are stickers.
This set of glittery pumpkins with the cute little kitty peeking out is also a sticker.
The glittery bat and the glittery pumpkin are also stickers.
As for everything else, it’s a combination of Halloween papers, Tim Holtz collage strips, and the Halloween photo stickers (I forget the name of the book they are from). The words October and Halloween are written on with paint pens, and to match the Halloween cards, I finished off with some splattery white paint.
So, I hope you find inspiration in this theme and I can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading, Happy Journalling and Happy Halloween!

Your cards are fabulous and I fully understand the cost of postage precluding you from posting too many. it’s got ridiculous just sending a card thee days.
I love all your little stickers and everything you have included in your calendar – it is absolutely fabulous Elle.
Hugs, Neet xx
This calendar is so cool Elle. That holographic paper shines almost like it lit with little Halloween lights. And you used some fun paper too. I can see where you got the inspiration for your cards, or vice versa. The cards are great too. This is a fun page for your challenge. 🙂 Happy rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika
Your calendar puts mine to shame. This is both stunning and amazing. All those people are scary. Your cards are great, too. Thanks for sharing your calendar with AJJ using your themes this month, Elle.
