I forgot one person! Well I didn’t forget them completely, I just forgot that I wanted to give them a snowflake card too but then I realised that I’d run out – how did this happen?
Anyway the good news is that I get to make more and that makes me happy since it’s such a fun technique.
I still had the contact paper snowflakes (actually stuck to my glass mat lol) so I peeled them off and stuck them on another piece of watercolour paper and got to painting. This time i used this lovely teal colour from my Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set. Once I had finished painting, I sprinkled the salt on and left it to dry overnight. Then I peeled off the contact paper snowflakes and stamped some smaller snowflakes onto the card with white pigment ink.
I really love how layered and textured this card has ended up and I actually like that some of the paint has seeped through because the contact paper has been used so many times. I think it makes it look more interesting. I die cut some snowflakes in silver and turquoise glitter card and attached them on the front of the card, and then I used this Concord and 9th Holly Jolly banner die to make the little banner out of some teal mirror card.
I really love this little die so here’s a close up. In hindsight I wished I’d added these little banners to the other snowflake cards but I didn’t think of it till now. And that’s the finished card.
