Spring is in the air so it’s time to make my annual Spring cards!  You know sometimes, I have no real idea of where I am going or what exactly my plan is for the final cards.  I am a planner but I am also a fly by the seat of your pants kinda gal, so for these cards I started by making a shedload of these little tissue paper flowers using an older die set from Concord & 9th that is one of my all time favourites.

This is the Petals and Pallets die set and I used two of the larger flower dies to make these little flowers.  It was very relaxing and stress-free and I spent a bit of time just sitting there making them and listening to an audiobook.  But then what?  Where am I going with these?  No idea lol.  Well I started stamping the flowers  and leaves from the stamp set on white card using various Gina K inks and then cut them out with the dies.  Then I stamped the woodgrain for the pallets and cut those out too and scored them so I could make them stand out a little from the cards.  I tried to keep them reasonably colour-co-ordinated with the Gina K cardstock I used for the actual cards

I stamped the little dovetails on the pallets and then “Hello Spring” using the Hello from the stamp set and the Sophisticated Script stamps for Spring. I decided to only use the tissue paper flowers on four of the cards – two that were being hand delivered and two that were being posted in a box with a gift.  All the other cards were being posted just in regular envelopes so I didn’t want them to be crushed and I didn’t want to pack them in anything more substantial.   All of the cards fit in regular 5 x 7 inch kraft envelopes that I buy in bulk packs.

I used Nuvo drops in the flower centres and randomly on the cards, and some wink of stella on the leaves.  I tied baker’s twine around the bunch of flowers on the right side of the cards.

I stamped some prettiness on the fronts and backs of all the envelopes using various stamps including the Stamping Village collaboration produced by Hero Arts.

I really love this little wooden stamp stamp from Concord and 9th, which was the main reason I wanted to get this set. I stamped the backs of all cards using Gina K Key Lime.

And here we have the finished cards – don’t they look so sunny and perfect for Spring?
