I’ve talked a lot about online classes, and the Altenew Academy classes in particular. You may remember, I took my first class with them last year after information about this class – Background Magic – landed in my inbox. Before that, I had never heard of Altenew Academy, even though I had been buying their stamps and dies for some time. If it hadn’t been for that email, I probably wouldn’t be writing this post now!
So that was the first class I ever took with Altenew Academy, and I did it because I actually had quite a few of the products used in the class lessons, so I was curious to see if I would discover new things to do with them. At the time, I also noticed the information about AECP, and mentioned it to a friend, and filed the info away for later as a “something to think about one day” idea. Since that day, I have taken ten classes with Altenew Academy at various levels, usually because I like the sound of them, or the instructor or the products used, so I thought it was probably time that I apply for the AECP and keep my fingers crossed. I completed the online application at the beginning of May and by the end of May I had been contacted for more information and to submit some examples. More anxious waiting ensued until I received the Welcome to the program email at the end of June and then suddenly I was in and registering for classes etc. So my official start date is today and I can proudly display this awesome badge on my blog and social media.
The Program consists of a number of classes over three levels and you must complete the classes in one level plus course projects before advancing to the next level, which means that I am currently at Square 1 on Level 1. but I have already started my first class. Everything is self-paced so it is up to you to set your own pace and goals. Here’s a list of the Classes for Level 1:
.All About Layering 1 (previously completed)
.All About Layering 2 (previously completed)
.Clean & Simple Boutique Cards
.Easy Ink Blending Techniques
.For The Guys
.Let It Shine
.Celebration: Stencil Techniques
.Seasonal Scene Building
.Easy Die Cutting Techniques
.Irresistible Inking Techniques
My first goal is to finish Level 1 by the end of the year. I don’t think that is too ambitious but we are coming into the busy time of the year as everyone starts thinking about Christmas, so we will see what happens. If you are curious, the classes to look forward to in Level 2 are:
.Beyond Basic Backgrounds
.In the Mood for Color
.With A Twist
.Creative Watercolor Media (previously completed)
.Beautiful Details (previously completed)
.Color Your Day
.Impressive Heat Embossing
.Magical Marker Techniques
