Hey cat lovers!  Kitty cards are like buses, none for ages then two at the same time lol.  As per my previous post with this stamp set, I couldn’t resist this sweet little cat from Heffy Doodle. I bought the stamp set and the matching die set, and decided to use it with this cool stencil and a rainbow background I created a few months ago.

The Card Idea

My second idea for this little kitty stamp was to use it with this very cool stencil called Zapp Attack also by Heffy Doodle.  I could see it working in all kinds of ways (in my head lol) and I’m still going to keep a few of those in mind for later, but for now I decided to use one of these previously created rainbow backgrounds – I already did galaxy so why not rainbow!  After some deliberation, I ended up choosing to heat emboss the stencil with clear embossing powder, because this is an Oxide background, and the clear embossing wouldn’t hide the background colour but it would emphasize it a little by darkening it – perfect!  It was just the look I was going for!  I already had this little kitty coloured and ready to go, as I had stamped out two of them when I made the last card, and the obvious place for him was right in the dead centre of the universe, because aren’t all cats at the centre of the universe in the eyes of their humans?

All that remained was to stamp out the sentiment and I did that on the bottom of the heat embossed cardstock as the background was larger than the stencil so I had leftovers.  I cut them out, edged them with a black marker and stuck them down at a jaunty angle.  Then I just had to make the card by creating a 6 x 6 inch card base, matted it with Gina K Key Lime cardstock and put it all together.
