Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!

Today I heard on the radio that today is our 100th day of lockdown!  Can you believe it?  I surely can’t. I’m actually beginning to forget what life was like in the before times.  One good thing that has come out of all this time locked up is that I have been super creative and spending a lot of time in my craft space.

Today I am sharing this card that I made for a challenge theme:

I made these rainbow style Distress Oxide backgrounds using reinkers.  Um… I made a lot of them!

distress oxide baby wipe backgrounds

I chose one of the more pastel of the rainbow backgrounds for my card.  This is created on watercolour paper.  I stamped The Professor in the centre using Versafine brown ink.  If I’m going retro, then it’s got to be brown!

I die cut the letters out of the background to say YOU’RE SO RETRO.  This will be an eclipse effect card. Since the background will basically be put back in at the end, it doesn’t matter that I cut into the image – in fact it’s better as it will give more of an effect.

I attached the panel to a brown cardstock base to make my card.  Then I die cut the same letters in the brown card and glued them in place.  I actually like it this way with the brown letters against the background but then that’s not the effect I’m going for so I kept going.

Time to glue the rainbow letters back in their original spots!

And that’s it done, the very retro looking Professor.

Nothing says retro like brown and rainbows, except maybe pink and orange… hmmm there’s a thought!  LOL
Thanks for reading, let me know what you think in the comments below.  I’m off to make a cuppa!

PROJECT RECIPE:

The Professor Stamp
Bold Alpha dies
brown cardstock
Versafine Clair Acorn Ink
Distress Archival Ground Espresso
Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
From stash: rainbow background,

I started something new for April and continuing . . .

Since we are all stuck inside and can’t leave the house, I thought I would try and do two things:
1. use this time to finish any unfinished projects
2. use as much recycled materials as possible (I do this a lot anyway) but also not to buy new stuff!
So, with that in mind, I will note the above on any posts, if applicable.
UNFINISHED PROJECT – NO
RECYCLED MATERIALS – NO, but nothing new bought

LOVE all those gorgeous rainbow backgrounds! They are going to keep you busy for a while! Your card is fabulous! The background is perfect for the eclipse technique. Thank you for sharing it with us for our June Challenge at Stamping Sensations.
