Hi friends!

It’s time for a new challenge over on More Than Words Challenge Blog.  Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge and this time the theme is:

Word Inspiration – Goodbye
Creative Challenge – MONOCHROME

I always planned to do black and white/greyscale for my DT project but it wasn’t until I started sketching out sad women holding black cats that I started to get an idea of where I was heading with this one.  So it was looking like it was going to be a bit of a sad art journal page, until I started thinking about GOODBYE and then it hit me!  Of course I should totally do a page inspired by one of my all time favourite songs, and guess what, there’s even a black cat in the video!

So I decided to combine a few different elements to make my spread inspired by this iconic song.  I have the song lyrics, some images I printed from video stills and some of my Chinese brush painting papers that I’ve been working on so it was fun to finally use them in a project.
There’s no step-by-step for this one as I was totally absorbed and it was never part of the plan this time around, so here we are with the finished spread.  Given the name of the band – Hunters and Collectors – and all my background papers, I think it has quite a tribal look to it, like maybe those original Hunters and Collectors were painting in caves!

As always, you can enter any new project except ATCs, cards, postcards or tags (save those for the Mini Challenge!)  and there are eight prizes up for grabs!  Visit the blog for more details of prizes and sponsors and some amazing inspiration from the Design Team.
I’d love to see what you make so don’t forget to enter the More Than Words Main Challenge which is open till the end of the month!
