Hi festive friends!  I hope your week has been good and all your holiday prep is done.  I have a little surprise Christmas card for you today – surprise because I hadn’t planned on making any more but I came across this image and I knew I just wanted to make a card with it.  The images below were all free on the Gecko Galz blog and then printed out on my temperamental printer.  The one I am going to use for my card is the lady in green carrying all the presents.  (I also had some ideas about some of these other images but one thing at a time right!)

I also wanted to use this envelope that I saved last week.  It came in the mail from one of the supermarkets and it just looked so festive I had to save it for something which turned out to be this project!  I also have this scripty blue metallic SEASON left over from a previous card.  I actually cut this word out by mistake so that was handy as it was now available for this card!

Unfortunately in my haste to tear open the envelope and find out what special offers they had (double points obviously lol), I tore the envelope so I needed to repair it a little bit and hide that giant DOUBLE POINTS from view.  Then I stuck it to some kraft card to make the card base.  It measures approx 6.5 x 6.5 inches.

Then I did some recolouring of the image and added a complete frame around it as there was like a drop shadow on two sides and nothing on the other two and I needed a frame.  I added more green to her outfit too with polychromos, and various little touch ups.

I added this bow which was also unused from a previous card, and I changed it from silver to gold to fit better with the colours of this card.  I added lots of gold splatters to the junk mail background and touched up the red with some acrylic paint, before adding Christmas shopping lady.
It doesn’t seem to be showing up well in this photo but I edged the card with gold paint too.  I adhered the “Season” and the small ” ‘TIS THE” with some PVA and that was the card done.

Ah there are the gold edges lol and the shiny blue metallic SEASON.

Hope you enjoyed this little festive card, and as always, thanks for reading!

I am also entering this card in the following Challenges

A Vintage Journey – December Challenge – A Merry Little Christmas/Goodbye – I still really can’t believe that the blog is closing down. I’m not sure I can bring myself to make a goodbye card, so here is another Christmas card.
Country View Challenges – December Challenge – Anything Christmas – my recycled Tesco envelope Christmas card should fit the bill!

This is such a fabulous, vintage style card, Elle – I love that you recycled the lovely supermarket envelope. (It would have made a great shaker card too!) Adding extra colour and a frame to the image made it more your own. Thank you so much for joining the December challenge at Gecko Galz! x
