As I mentioned in the last post, today marks the start of the #100DayProject and I am attempting it this year, and will do my best to do all 100 days.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s some info and a link to the website:

The idea is simple: choose a creative project, do it every day for 100 days, and share your process online.
Every year, thousands of people all around the world commit to 100 days of creating.
Want to join us for the 8th annual #The100DayProject?
The next round starts January 31st, 2021.

So here is my Day 1 project, and the theme of my creative project is book quotes.  I might be more specific later once I iron out a few more details but since it’s only day one, let’s go with that so I can get started.

I started making the watercolour background for the card using some new paint I bought recently.  This colour is called Forest Blue and it’s gorgeous!  I wanted to make a wintery full moon with a misty kind of ring around it like you see sometimes when it’s really cold – like now!

I added some stamping using a small butterfly stamp to represent a moth, and one of my handmade tree stamps that I made last year.  I was sure I took a photo of this step but I can’t find it, so the next step was to duplicate the same techniques from the card onto an ATC.  There are several layers of paint on the card but only two on the ATC so you will see the colour is a lot lighter once it is dry.

Here it is after it was dry

I added some stamping with Jet Black Stazon and then some silver splatters and edging using silver acrylic ink.

The last step was to add the book quote using a black micron pen on both the card and the ATC

These are fabulous blue pieces Elle. The moon on the larger piece has such a cool slightly cloudy look. And in both pieces the moon really brightens the page. These are perfect for the challenge at Try It on Tuesday. Thanks for sharing them. Hugs-Erika
