Hello again, here I am with another 10 day catch up for the #100DayProject, this time it’s days 11-20 already! If you have been following along on Instagram, I have been posting them every day but I wanted to do a round-up post here on the blog. You can find a detailed post for my Day 1 project where I went into the ins and outs of what I was doing, and here is a look at the first ten days. For this post, I am presenting the finished projects for days eleven to twenty.
Here are the individual days with titles, authors and quotes.
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Something from the Nightside by Simon R Green
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs
Storm Front by Jim Butcher
Hounded by Kevin Hearne
So why ATCs and why these books? Well in order to make it easier on myself and therefore make it more likely that I could do all 100 days, I thought ATCs would be perfect. Then I thought of book quotes handwriting them, perfect way to practice my lettering and also indulge my love of books. So what books? Initially I wrote down – very quickly – a list of 100 books I loved, just off the top of my head, no looking at bookshelves etc. But then that seemed too general and vague, so then I thought, 19th Century fiction which I love but maybe I didn’t have 100 books? (It has to be books on my shelves) Hmm, 100 Jane Austen quotes? I could totally do that, I have a book of Austen quotes! But then looking through the book, some of the quotes were very obscure and often very long – too long for ATCs. So then I thought of 100 magical books! Brilliant! This would be easy, I absolutely have enough books with some element of magic in them so it was totally possible. And so here we are “100 quotes from magical books handwritten on ATCs”. It really doesn’t matter what the magical element is, it can be anything from witches, wizards, Harry Potter, to faeries, vampires and elves. I have included Outlander which covers many genres but there is the magic of time travel through the mystical stones and of course there is one very particularly evil witch character in the book, so I definitely consider it a magical book. Twenty done, eighty to go, luckily there are more than enough books on the shelves!
