Hello friends and welcome back to another blog post, this time for Day 12 of the Blog Along with Effy (details below) and I can also wish you a Happy Monday and hope that your week will be good.  Here’s what I did yesterday – a bit of a clean up and organise day in the studio.  First I have all of these lovely papers which are the result of my most recent gel printing efforts.  These are not monoprints from the plate, these are the papers I use to clean off my brayer but they always turn out so lovely and beg to be used, so I oblige.

Here is a random selection of, well, I guess some people might call it trash, garbage, rubbish lol, but I just see it as yet more art journaling supplies and collage fodder!  They will all be used eventually! Oh and see the Pukka tea box on the right?  That After Dinner tea is my favourite atm!

I have also been deliberately collecting all of this lovely stuff below for some forthcoming projects as I have some guest hosting commitments later on this year.  I started collecting this little lot before Christmas and have been adding to it ever since.

When all the tidying and sorting was over, I had some boxes of ready-to-use colour co-ordinated bits and pieces which I would call ephemera or collage fodder or maybe even my precioussss.  Gotta say it looks a lot better like this, all separated by colour than it did when it was a big pile on my desk before I started the clean up.  It feels better and much more calming to look at, as well as being a little more inviting.

BTW these boxes were part of kitty Christmas lol  If you have seen those cardboard scratchers they have for cats, well that’s what was in these boxes, but if you leave them in the boxes as you are supposed to, then they slide across the carpet when the cat tries to use them, making them pretty useless, but if you take the corrugated cardboard scratcher out of the box, and put it on the carpet, then it stays put.  So the kitties get the scratchers and I get some cool new storage boxes for free!

Let me know what you think in the comments, drop by tomorrow for the Day 13th post, and as always, thanks for reading!

I really should sort out my craft room! The idea of sorting ephemera into colour is great and as you say – inviting. I bet it gets used more, too!
