Mother’s Day seems to change every year now. I know it’s because of Easter etc but it seemed to always be the third Sunday in March and now it’s just whenever! So now this year it’s super early and I didn’t realise and of course I was unprepared. I mean, usually I need to get on the other side of several family birthday cards before I need to even think about Mother’s Day cards!
Anyway, I am in the midst of my Distress Oxide experiments and totally loving them BTW, so what else would I use for this card but one of them… but which one? Here are a couple of the contenders.
I am love love loving these colours together – that pink! The backgrounds above have already been sprayed with water. The ones below have yet to be sprayed – quite the difference!
I also did some tags, because, why not, and because they will definitely get used for something.
I also have this big fat cat stamp from Stampendous that I planned to use on this card, so I ended up stamping it on a couple of the backgrounds to see how they looked.
I like them both but I know mum will like the blues and purples more.
The card base I am using is just a kraft 5 x 7, and I cut out the square window using this frame die from Sizzix. It has the ornate frame and the window included in the die set.
I cut the Mum from a Tim Holtz Alterations die set from Sizzix called Script Alphanumeric in the same black glitter card as the frame.
Supplies used FYI:
Brusho Powdered Watercolours
Watercolour and Mixed Media Cardstock from stash
Photo paper from stash
Distress Spray bottle and water
Tim Holtz Alterations Script Alphanumeric dies
Sizzix Ornate Frames die
Kraft cards and envelopes
