Happy Birthday Card – Cute Cats Tunnel Card

I had a birthday card I needed to make (honestly one day I will make extras and not have to rush at the last minute when I need one!) and I wanted to use this cute little cat stamp and die set from My Favourite Things.  It’s called Love You Furever – how cute is that?

I don’t have any photos of how I constructed my card but it is very simple to do, just so long as your measurements are accurate!  The photo below gives you a good idea of what to do though.

And when all the layers are folded and glued in place it will look like this, so that seems about right.  Of course you don’t want to do that just yet as there is stamping to be done and that will be easier if it is flat!

I had this idea that I wanted to make a tunnel card and have the kitties popping out at various spots, so I thought that would be a good inside, and on the outside I thought they would look nice in a tree so I used this tree stamp from Lavinia Stamps.

It’s actually half a tree, and they have two of them, so you can have one facing left or right or put them both together to make a whole tree. My idea was to have the cats up in the clouds on the inside (IDK as they are not angels-in-clouds kitties, just very high up kitties who climbed the tree and then higher beyond the tree), so on the outside of the card they are on the tree and on the inside they have reached the top of the tree and are now hanging out in the clouds.



Time to add all the little cats to the outside of the card, along with the die cut Happy Birthday words.

OK so now you can see the oopsie on the front of the card as I mis-stamped the tree.  I did make a second card with no mistake but in my haste to post it, I forgot to snap a pic of it, so let’s pretend this one is perfect, ok?

I made a quick gift tag from some glitter card and a Sizzix die, one of the Tim Holtz alphanumeric ones.

Then with the letters that were cut out, I used them on the envelope for my card!

All that was left to do was wrap up the present with some pretty ribbon and that glittery tag!
