Next on the list are the cat cards for my cat-loving friends! I love this Oh Kitty Tree stamp set from Mama Elephant and had this idea of setting it against a forest background as though it was a real tree.
I needed four of these cards so here’s how they came together…
First of all I cut down the watercolour card to the required size, then stamped the Kitty Trees on it. Because I was going to watercolour a background, I needed to mask off the kitties, so I used the matching dies to cut out some masks and stuck them down on each card.
Then I painted the background behind the kitties, starting with the sky, using my Altenew Watercolor 36 pan set. Then I painted some fir trees on top of the sky and some snowy ground.
I waited for the backgrounds to dry and then removed the masks.
Then I started to colour in the Kitty Trees with alcohol markers
And here are the four finished cards – three of them are coloured exactly the same, and one is coloured slightly differently.
I trimmed down the edges and then mounted the cards on to some turquoise sea cardstock. I used nuvo drops on the stars and ornaments etc and a black glaze pen on the kitty eyes and noses.
Then I stamped the inside of each card with these cute little kitties from the same stamp set
And that’s the final cards ready for posting.
