A very belated birthday card for a wonderful friend so what else to use for it than the Wonderful Florals stamp and die set from Concord & 9th. Yes it is one of the older sets but it really does make beautiful cards and can do it quite quickly too if you are in a rush.  You could also watercolour or otherwise colour in the floral design and take more time over it but I needed something v. quick.  I also love using bits and pieces that I have previously made, including this purple and blue distress ink smooching background that I made before Christmas as a bit of a test. I reckoned it would be just about the right size to use with this set.  I did also stamp it on an alcohol ink background but it was taking way too long to dry so I had to abandon that idea for now and go with this background which is actually a lot brighter and closer to what I had intended.

wonderful friend card

I used the Wonderful die to cut that out and then layered white glitter card behind it, and then attached the whole thing to some Gina K cardstock in Turquoise Sea.

Here’s what was used FYI

Wonderful Florals Stamps and Dies – Concord & 9th
Distress Ink
Gina K cardstock
Lawn Fawn White Glitter Card
Tim Holtz Stamp Platform from Tonic Studios
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
