Morning everyone!

Today I have this card to share with you...

It was created for a couple of current challenges and inspired really by this stamp.  I was stamping it out last night to use for something entirely different and then started thinking what to do for a couple of challenges I was planning to enter. – pink, masculine and make your own background!  Suddenly I had an idea to combine all three (I love it when a plan comes together!)  LOL

I recently spent a few fun hours making these backgrounds using some embossing folders and some water soluble crayons.  You can see another one of them in action here.  As soon as I put this guy against those pink backgrounds I knew it was meant to be!

I took one of the pink ones, and then treated it further with some gold metallic paint splashes which is one of my favourite things to add and also treated the edges with the gold paint.  I had this negative piece of card leftover from cutting out a frame, but guess what, it’s a frame in its own right, with a little bit of tidying up.

I do love this effect of the distressed watercoloured embossing, I can imagine it being wallpaper in an old crumbling chateau where this guy still lives his decadent, but slightly shabby life.  I had to angle the card to try and show the shine from the gold paint but I see that it has made the text look like it’s wonky LOL.  It’s not wonky, it is perfectly straight.  The flourishes and the bird came from an older Sizzix/Hero Arts combo stamp and die set that I had stamped out for something else and had extras.  He’s not supposed to have a bird in his hair but I think it fits his character. 🙂

And that’s it!  Thanks for reading, let me know what you think in the comments below.  I’m off to make a cuppa!
