Hello friends!

I have a journal page to share with you today that is not for one of the July daily challenges I am doing!  It was nice to switch gears and do something else for a change.  So here’s how it came about – Art Journal Journey has a Doors and/or Arches challenge this month and I was wondering if I was going to be able to find time to join in this month or not since the month is getting old.  And I was wondering what to do with all those classes I’ve got and not done, especially those I have paid for in the past, so I decided to watch a class, and the one I picked was by Laly Mille (love her) called The Enchanted Forest.  If you want to see Laly’s project you can see it here on her website.  Since it is a class, there are no process photos or that might give too much info away, but as expected, it started with collage and magazines.  Laly always seems to have the best magazines for this kind of thing, I do not haha.  However I came up with the following bits and pieces that I thought I could make into something…

Near the end, it was time to add some words, and so I thought I would use some of my own word stickers that I have been working on, so I printed some out, and found some good ones for the page.

The following are all photos of the finished page…

Is it a door? an arch?   a secret portal?  I don’t know but it’s definitely one of those lol.

I did splatter some gold paint around it but it’s not really showing up very well on camera.

As I was finishing this off this morning, Miss Lily took advantage of the early morning sunshine, and spread out on my table.

She was ever so slightly in the way but how could I refuse when she looks so cute?

I was also working on today’s ICAD and today’s Junk Journal July page, so glad I got up early this morning so I could fit it all in!  If you want to see today’s ICAD click here (it’s another cat eye card) and today’s junk journal is extremely pared back.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Oh that is such a great page Elle. I love that door into the forest. And I am glad you found time to join Wendy’s challenge too. Thank you for that. And Miss Lily is certainly enjoying the sun and some attention too. She is really cute! Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs-Erika

Gosh, Elle. My magazines aren’t nearly as magical as yours. I suspect there was a lot more than just magazine images that went into that page. Truly a beautiful entry and a wonderful page for Wendy’s theme at Art Journal.

Thanks Elizabeth. I listed everything I used at the bottom of the page. I have no idea how it turned out looking like this lol. It was basically magazines (free ones at that!) paint, ink and some word stickers
