Hi Friends,
Hello again, I am trying to catch up a bit with the journalling events that I planned to join this month, and so last night I was able to sit down and work through some pages in my Care December journal while watching Jack Ryan on Prime. If you haven’t heard of this event, Care December is held by the Wanderlust people, Everything Art UK, it’s a free event that anyone can join on their website. I watched four episodes of Jack Ryan last night and finished 18 pages, so I felt quite good about that as it means I am now up to date with one of the challenges.
Today’s Art . . .
About today’s pages: This background is sprayed with Distress Oxide Speckled Egg and Infusions and splattered with gold paint. I made the journal, putting the pages together after they had been sprayed, and then I have been working through them in order, so imagine my surprise when I saw the prompt for today, and turned to the next page in my journal to see that the page was covered mostly in stag shapes that had been diecut for my cards. OK they are not White Unicorns, but I thought I could play with it a bit and make them white stags. As the backgrounds had been already sprayed with Oxides and Infusions, I had to use a white Posca pen to go over the top of the colour to make the stags white (again) I say again because the paper had been white and if I had known about the prompt in advance I could have thought about leaving them white lol.

Day 6 and 7
About the journal: This entire journal is made from handmade paper and all the negative pieces leftover from diecutting all those Christmas cards a few weeks ago. I was using A4 paper for all the diecutting and so I was left with all of that diecutting waste, so I decided I would use it for the background of my pages. On top of that I sprayed either Infusions, or Distress Oxide or a combination of both, so for a change the inside of my journal has a consistent look! I am also using some old paper that I found in a drawer, it’s a book of hmm I guess like a cardmaking kit, so there are lots of elements that you are supposed to assemble into cards. It cost me £3 years ago and I liked the wintry images, so I figured I would try and use it up in this journal and see how it went. I also typed out all the daily prompts and printed them out and glued them to each page.
Since this page is very wintry I am also sharing it with Jo’s theme of Snowy Winter over on Art Journal Journey (link below).
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!

Art Journal Journey – Snowy Winter
I received my very first Posca pen for Christmas and I can see why people love them. I especially love the Love Letters. Thanks also for this great entry you have given us at AJJ using Jo’s theme.
This is such a lovely page. I’m glad you had enough die cut pages to make another background this way as it looks great. And the heart is such a sweet holiday addition. Thank you for once again joining us at AJJ for Jo’s challenge. And once again, I hope you have a warm day and a lovely holiday. hugs-Erika
