Hello friends, Happy January and Happy New Year!
Since it is the very first day of the month, and the very first month of the year, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for the very first challenge of the year at More Than Words with you.
The main challenge this month is as follows:
I started off my background using three different Fresco chalk paints with a brayer. I kept going until I had the colours that I liked, and then took the clock stamp (HP1902)and stamped all over the background using a dark blue stazon ink.
Once that was dry, I used one of the free papers for this month’s challenge, cut them up and glued them down to my page. I really like this vintage-y brown colour next to the blue background. For some reason the camera is picking out a pinkish tinge on some of the stamping but I assure you there is no pink on the page, all the stamping is in dark blue, weird huh,
I’ve been thinking a lot about this time of year, as we all are prone to do, since it is a time of reflection, so the saying “out with the old and in with the new” popped into my head so I decided to hand write it onto my page with a white pen.
I was actually using these specimen cards on another project (Dephemerember) and had stamped out more than I needed so I thought I would stamp the two years 2022 an 2023 inside them and see what it would look like. I used the W2EZ Words Plate 2 stamp from Paperartsy to stamp my numbers. I like this alphabet stamp as it reminds me of a worn typewriter text and is a little grungy and also a handy size.
The specimen cards are from a Gwen Lafleur stamp set EGL26 which has lots of useful stamps on it. If you are interested in the free printables I designed for this month’s challenge you can find them linked inside this month’s issue of Artful Pages!
As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
